In order of operation, you must do division before addition. Therefore, you first step would be to divide -12 by 6. That would equal -2. Then you would add 2 to -2 which would be 0 because the positive 2 cancels out the -2. Your answer is 0.

you should get -2.
now add that to 2.
-2 + 2 is 0
