Distance covered by Mr. Baker = 6 miles

As this distance is of both sides, we will divide it by 2 which will give us the diameter of the circle.

Distance of one side = 6/2 = 3 miles

Diameter = 3 miles

Radius = 3/2 = 1.5 miles

Area of circle =

Area of circle =
3.14*(1.5)^2 = 3.14 * 2.25

Area of circle = 7.065 = 7.1 square miles

Hence,

Area of circular trail = 7.1 square miles
