its easy addition and multiplication are both commutative. Subtraction, division, and composition of functions are not. like 5 + 6 = 6 + 5 but 5 – 6 ≠ 6 – 5. Commutativity isn't just a property of an operation alone.

Answer: Hello there!

An operation is commutative if changing the order of the factors does not affect the product, this property works for addition and multiplication:

The commutative property for addition is, for two real numbers A and B:

A + B = B + A.

The commutative property for multiplication is, for two real numbers A and B:

A*B = B*A

This is not necessarily the case if we are working with functions, complex numbers or matrices.
