Answer: Possible width of the banner would be 8 feet.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Length of the banner = 15 feet

Length of ribbon available = 46 feet

Since the banner is in the form of rectangle using dark red with white ribbon border.

So, perimeter of banner would be 46 feet.

As we know the formula for "Perimeter of rectangle":

Perimeter = 2( length + Breadth)


46=2(15+w)\\\\46=30+2w\\\\46-30=2w\\\\16=2w\\\\(16)/(2)=w\\\\w=8\ feet
