The Equation will be: 4(3) + 3x = 36
12 + 3x = 36
3x = 36 - 12
x = 24 / 3
x = 8
So, Your Answer would be 8 doors

36 hinges devided by 3 = 12 doors
he hanged 4 on the first floor so 8 remain
