Personally, I think that student activism receives so much attention because society has built a stereotype of kids not caring or paying attention when it comes to reality's problems. As a result, when students begin to speak up against or in favor of a real-world subject, it shocks everyone to know that kids- no matter their age- really do care about their world and the problems that humans worldwide are facing. This causes people to create a bigger and less precise stereotype among students or actually listen to what students have to say.
