24 athletes threw the shot-put at a track-and-field meet. If this number was 15/100 of all the athletes at the meet, how many athletes, overall, competed in the meet?

What I would do is work out what 5/100 is
Which is 8 athletes
I would add 8 and 24 which is 32
Finally times by 4, which is 128

15/100 ÷ 3 = 5 / 100 5 / 100 = 8 Athletes
and if you multiply 5 and 20 you get a hundred so now it's a whole, but you have to do the same thing with 8

so...

The answer is: 160 Athletes competed in the meeting.
