t went up 25 degrees to give a temperature of t + 25

Answer:

(t - 8) degrees

Explanation:

Let t represent the beginning temperature

If the temperature drops by 25 degrees, the new temperature

= t - 25

If the temperature goes up by 17 degrees then the ending temperature;

= t - 25 + 17

= (t - 8) degrees

The expression showing the ending temperature is (t - 8) degrees.
