The zero product property means that 0a=0.


(I'm assuming that by y2 you mean y squared btw)



y^(2) 4y - 32 = 0



4y - 32 = (0)/( y^(2) )


the zero divided by y is zero:



4y - 32 = 0


move the 4y



-32 = 4y


(-32)/(4) = y



y = -8
