First u have to convert a mixed number into a improper fraction by multiplying the denominator by the whole number then adding the numerator. Second, u divide the numerator by the denominator.
Ex. 11/2= 3/2=1.5.

Well a mixed number is like 1 2/3. In order to make it a decimal change it into an improper fraction : 5/3. Now divided 5 by 3 and get 1.66666667. Hoped I helped!
