Rather than "junk" dna, such material is now referred to as what?

Here is the answer to the question above. Rather than "Junk" DNA, such material is now referred to as NON-CODING DNA. These DNA are called such because these do not code for anything and have no obvious purpose. Some biologists refers to these DNA as Junk DNA. Hope this answer helps.
