2. What is the slope of a line that passes through the points (2,0) and (5,0)?
3. A line has a slope of 2. It passes through the points (1,2) and (3,y). What is he value of y?

Answer:

Solution 1 :-

It is more difficult to run up on slope of 5 because greater slope of a line reflects greater angle it makes with base. That is Surafce with slope 5 is more inclined than slope with
(1)/(5).

Solution 2 :-

Slope of line passing through two point is given by
(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Given points are ( 2, 0 ) and ( 5, 0 )

∴ Slope of line with given points =
(0-0)/(5-2)

= 0

Slope of line is 0.

Solution 3 :-

Given: Slope of line = 2

Line passes throught points ( 1, 2 )( 3, y )

Using formula of slope we get,

Slope of line =
(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

2 =
(y-2)/(3-1)

2 =
(y-2)/(2)

y - 2 = 2 × 2

y - 2 = 4

y = 6

Solution 4 :-

This part is same as 2nd.

So slope of line passing through these points is 0 .
