We know that 1 2/5 lbs = 1.4 (decimal). We also know that 2 3/4 = 2.75.
1.4 lbs costs $3.36.
Divide 2.75 by 1.4:
2.75 / 1.4 = 1.964 (rounded)
Multiply $3.36 by 1.964:
3.36 * 1.964 = 6.599
So, 2 3/4 lbs of meat would cost $6.60.

1 2/5 = 3.36
So 2/5 is 0.4
1.4 = 3.36
Now we have to figure out 2 3/4
3/4 is 0.75
set up a proportion
1.4 = 3.36
2.75 = X
Let's Cross Multiply
1.4X = 9.24
X = 9.24/1.4
X = 6.6
So, it costs 6.6 dollars for 2 3/4 pounds of lunch meat.
