Answer:

Store B has the best deal .

Explanation:

Walden's family is shopping for a reclining chair.

At four stores the price of the chair is $800 plus 5% sales tax. =

800 + (5% × 80) = 800 + ( 0.05 × 80)

= 800 + 40 = $840

Each store is offering a different promotion.

Store A. $75.00 instant rebate

The price will be = 840.00 - 75.00 = $765.00

Store B. 10% off sale

The price will be = 840 - (10% × 840)

= 840 - 84 = $756.00

Store C. 5% off sale plus store pays sale tax.

The price will be = 840 - 40 - (5% × 800)

= 800 - 40 = $760

Store D. "no tax" sale

The price will be = 840 - 40 = $800

Price on all stores :

Store A : $765

Store B : $756

Store C : $760

Store D : $800

So Store B has the best deal .

Just by looking at the answer you can take out D because C already offers no tax and 5% off, do C is better than D, so we only have to do t math for A, B, and C
A is 800 plus tax, with $75 back
800×1.05 (because it's 5% tax) -75 =$765
B is 800×.90 (because 10% off means he's paying 90%)×.05=$756
C is 800×.95 (because 5% off means he's paying 95%) =760
A=765
B=756
C=760
So B is the best deal
