The correct option is B.

Acceleration is defined as the rate of velocity of a body per unit time; that is, acceleration is given by the ratio of velocity and time. Looking at the graph given above, it can be seen that, the two runners started with different initial velocity; Beverly started with the initial velocity of 15 m/s while Carl started with the initial velocity of 10 m/s. For the rest of the race, the two runners maintains similar acceleration but Beverly won because her initial velocity was higher.
