At the Science Museum there is an energy exhibition with 150 displays:

• 30% of the displays are about electricity

• 2 5 are about using renewable energy

• 0.2 are about the use of gas

• the remainder are about nuclear power

How many displays are there about nuclear power?

Whats 30% of 150 = 45

2/5 of 150 = 60

0.2 of 150 = 0.3 , or 0.133%

Add all and subtract from the total 150

Answer:

15 displays are of nuclear power

Explanation:

We have Total of 150 displays

1. 30 percent are of electricity i.e 30% of 150 = 45

2. 2/5 are of renewable energy i.e 2/5 * 150 = 60

3. 0.2 are of gas i.e 0.2 * 150 = 30

Remainder are of nuclear power (assume x)

i.e Total no of displays = Sum of individual displays

150 = 45 + 60 + 30 + x

150 = 135 + x

15 = x
