Answer:

\$1.25 per hot dog and
\$0.75 per soda

Explanation:

Let

x------> the charge per hot dog

y-----> the charge per soda

we know that

2x+2y=4 ------> equation A

3x+y=4.50 ------> equation B

Multiply by
-2 equation B

-2(3x+y)=-2*4.50

-6x-2y=-9 ------> equation C

Adds equation A and equation C

2x+2y=4\\-6x-2y=-9\\---------\\ 2x-6x=4-9\\-4x=-5\\x= \$1.25

Find the value of y

3x+y=4.50

3(1.25)+y=4.50

y=4.50-3.75=\$0.75

therefore

\$1.25 per hot dog and
\$0.75 per soda
