I think this is your answer: Prior to 1660, many English left their homeland bc of religious and political turmoil. High unemployment and low wages in England added to the troubles. It's from a quizlet thing that I used to use a lot.

it is because the English were no longer sought after indentured servants and because the English in the political and religious squabble.
