A bike and skate shop rents bikes for $21 per day and pairs of skates for $20 per day. To remain viable, the shop needs to make at least $362 per day from bike and skate rentals combined.

If they rent twice as many bikes as they do pairs of skates, what is the least number of pairs of skates they need to rent each day to make their minimum?

Ur answer is 6 (20+20+20+20+20+20+21+21+21+21+21+21+21+21+21+21+21+21=372) and they need at least 362 hope this helps I'm pretty sure this is right sorry if it's wrong but it seems right to me

Answer:

6

Explanation:

It is given that a bike and skate shop rents bikes for $21 per day and pairs of skates for $20 per day.

Let x be the number of pairs of skates.

They rent twice as many bikes as they do pairs of skates.

Number of bikes = 2x

Combined rent of x pairs of skates and 2x bikes is

Total=21(2x)+20(x)

Total=42x+20x

Total=62x

The shop needs to make at least $362 per day from bike and skate rentals combined.

Total\geq 362

62x\geq 362

Divide both sides by 62.

x\geq (362)/(62)

x\geq 5.84

The value of x greater than 5.84. So the least integer value of x is 6.

Therefore, the least number of pairs of skates they need to rent each day to make their minimum is 6.
