Answer: x=-5/2 ; y=11/2

Explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to solve the system of equations:

5x-y =-7(a)

3x-y=-2(b)

Solving for "y" in (a)

5x+7=y

Replacing "y" in (b)

3x-(5x+7) =-2

3x-5x-7=-2

-7+2=-3x+5x

-5=2x

x= -5/2=-2.5 (decimal form)

Replacing "x" in (a)

5(-2.5) -y=-7

-12.5-y=-7

-12.5+7=y

-5.5=y

y=-5.5= -11/2
