The two main issues that America had to face at the end of World War II were:
-Millions of people were returning home from the war, needing jobs. This situation led to that in 1946, just returned from the war, the soldiers were unemployed for a time. Gradually they were included in the social welfare programs that had been created during the New Deal.
-Factories had to transition from making military supplies to domestic ones. The national industry had contributed enormously to the effort of the war. The civilian factories had become factories of military supplies, which greatly helped to turn the tide of war. But once the conflict ended, these companies found that their military supplies were no longer needed, so they had to return to their previous production, which caused economic damage to them.
