1. Design a question that asks about the relationship between two events, that can be supported by data.
2. Collect a minimum of 10 data points; you may use the internet to collect this data. Construct a scatter plot of the data including the regression line as well as a residual plot.
3. Draw conclusion(s) from both of the plots you made and assess whether the residual plot indicates a linear or non-linear model. Your conclusion(s) should include a discussion of the relationship of the two variables. Provide an explanation for your conclusion(s).

1. An example of a question that asks about the relationship between two events that can supported by data is this:
Are there fewer kids that play outside during a rainy day?
2. Data shows the there are fewer kids that play during a rainy day.
3. This means that kids stay inside during a rainy day.

Answer:

1. The question that asks about the relationship between two events can be "Did advertising affect the sales of a TV or not?"

2. The Scatter plot along with the Regression line is shown below.

3. This Residual plot indicates a linear relationship because it is a straight line (If we have a curve, not a straight line then it will be a non-linear relationship between sales and advertisement. As the advertisement for TV is increased it increases the sales of TV.
