"Economic crisis "

The reign of Luis Felipe I is known as the Monarchy of July for the month in which the Revolution of 1830 took place that placed him on the throne of France after deposing King Charles X. It was a constitutional monarchy that in 1848 had François Guizot as prime minister and head of government. Guizot had been the leader of the little party of the Doctrinaries (which disappeared with the French revolution of 1830), and represented the resistance of the authority to any liberal reform that might arise. His policy was not to the liking of popular opinion or the growing republican movement, which made him responsible for the bad situation in economic matters and foreign affairs that France suffered in these years.

In addition to the economic, industrial and financial crisis, the feeling of disillusionment and growing discontent over the blockade of democratic reforms exacerbated the demands of socialists and republicans. They felt that the reforms were not being done quickly enough, and the electoral reform motions presented by Socialists and Republicans in the National Assembly were never approved.
