we know that

The x-intercept is the value of x when the value of y is equal to zero

The y-intercept is the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero

In this problem we have

y=-(1)/(2)x+4

Step 1

Find the x-intercept

For
y=0

Substitute

0=-(1)/(2)x+4

(1)/(2)x=4

x=8

The answer Part 1) is the option f

8

Step 2

Find the y-intercept

For
x=0

Substitute

y=-(1)/(2)*0+4

y=4

The answer Part 2) is the option e

4

You want to look back at Y = mx + b
M = slope
B= Y-intercept
so since 4 is B, that makes the Y-intercept 4

In order to find the x-intercept you want to substitute Y for 0
so the equation y = 1/2x +4 so it would be 0 = 1/2x + 4.

we want to isolate the x coordinate so we have to subtract it from both sides of the equation:
0 = 1/2x + 4
-1/2x -1/2x
that gives me:
-1/2x = 4
next to get X by itself we have to divide -1/2 from both sides of the equation:
-1/2x = 4
------- ----
-1/2 -1/2
that gives me:
x = -2

overall the y-intercept is 4 or (0,4) and the x-intercept is -2 or (-2,0)
