Oedipus is encouraged from an large value of pride or hubris. Oedipus sees himself as a good person because people in his town thinks he's a hero also successor to the throne. His pride acts on the plot in such a way that a interference or conflict arises between him and teiresias because he was said to be the one who killed laius.

His hubris contributes to the plot in a such a way that a conflict arises between him and Teiresias when he is confronted of accusations of killing Laius.
