I would go with the age of trees as all the other options seem to fit the best.

Answer: Option B

Explanation:

The characteristics that are used to differentiate between two different types of biome are:

Type of trees: Every biome has some specific types of trees. Example: coniferous trees are found in tundra biome which mainly consists of pins and fir.

Climate: The biome is also characterized based on the climate as the type of trees and animals found in the biome is based on this factor.

Precipitation: This is another criteria to classify a type of forest from another. Like rain forest has high rainfall and Siberian has less rainfall.
