What is the value of the expression?
5/6+8/12

3/2 or 1.5 (both answers are correct because 3 divided by 2 is 1.5)

in order to add fractions the denominator must be the same number so
5/6 would be 10/12 so
10/12 + 8/12 = 18/12 or 1 1/2
