24: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24

32:1,2,4,6,9,16,32

36: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12,18,36

Is he correct? Explain your answer. If his reasoning is incorrect explain how he should have found the answer.....Please help!

Answer: No, Ben is not correct because Ben missed to write 8 as factor of 32.

After including 8 as common factor of 32, the actual greatest common factor of 24,32 and 36 = 8

⇒ They can put 8 plants in each row.

Explanation:

Given: The Garden Club is designing a garden with 24 cosmos,32 pansies, and 36 marigolds.

Since Ben missed to write 8 as factor of 32.

Therefore, he observed that the greatest common factor = 6 and said he can put 6 plants in each row.

But after including 8 as common factor of 32, the actual greatest common factor of 24,32 and 36 = 8

Hence, they can plant 8 plants of same type in each row .
