7x+1 < 4(x-2) simplify gives
7x+1 < 4x-8 and collect terms...
3x < -9 i'd solve it as an equality
3x = -9 giving
x = -3 see if zero is in the solution set
7*0 +1 < 4(0-2)
1 < -8 false so
x < -3 (doesn't contain zero)
and: x < - 3
