(m + 8) - (5m + 11)
m + 8 - 5m = ll (combine like terms)
-4m + 8 = ll
-4m + 8 -8 = 11 -8 (subtract both sides by 8)
-4m = 3 (divide each side by 4)
m = -3/4

m + 8)
= 5m + 11 - m - 8
= 4m + 3
