I would say that. The boy looks at the moon every night because it reminds him of his father. His father would always look at the moon and tell him all about it, his father loved the moon so he loved the moon, now he wants his son to love the moon just as much as they did. The boys father passed away and now every time he sees the moon it reminds him of his father and all the times they would lay in the grass looking up at the moon.
