Yeah, probably because say a short wide beak allows the bird to crack nuts and a long skinny beak allows a bird to eat bugs out of trees and fruits then a beak somewhere in the middle of the two might allow them to eat both.

Yes, but it depends on the habitat the bird is living in and how big the beak is itself. If the beak is small, the bird is not going to pick up something like a grape. hope that made any sense, the question is a little weird.
