2. Florida citrus groves cover approximately 750,000 acres. There are approximately 98 million citrus trees. What is the “population” density of the citrus trees?

3. These citrus trees produced about 292 million boxes of citrus during the 2003 – 2004 season. How many boxes of citrus were produced per tree, on average?

54153 square miles is equivalent to 34657920 acres. 750000 divided by 34657920 is about 0.022, which is also 2.2%

98 million divided by 750000 is about 1306.67, so the population density of the trees is 1306.67 trees per acre

292 million divided by 98 million is very close to 3, so about 3 boxes were produced per tree, on average
