Spectral lines are characteristic of an element or compound. It is an intensive property which means that it does not depend on the amount of the substance. Therefore, 1 g of Element Z will produce the same spectral lines are 2 g of Element Z.

the reason why the spectrum produced by a 1 gram sample of element z would have the same spectral lines at the same wavelengths as the spectrum produced by a 2gram is because Mass does not determine the spectral lines

hope this helps
