the equation fof the line that passes through (x1,y1) ad has a slope of m is
y-y1=m(x-x1)

find the slope first
slope between the points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) is
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
so
(-3.75,-1.75) and (-0.75, -3.75)
slope= (-3.75-(-1.75))/(-0.75-(-3.75))=
(-3.75+1.75)/(-0.75+3.75)=
(-2)/(3)
-2/3

pick any oint
(-0.75,-3.75)
y-(-3.75)=-2/3(x-(-0.75))
y+3.75=-2/3(x+0.75)

expand
y+3.75=-2/3x-0.5
minus 3.75 both sides
y=-2/3x-4.25

m = (-3.75 + 1.75)/(-.75 + 3.75)
m = -2/3

y = mx + b
-1.75 = -2/3(-3.75) + b
-1.75 = 2.5 + b
so b = -1.75 - 2.5 = -4.25

equation
y = -2/3x - 4.25
