x^ 8 + 3x ^5 = x^5(x^3 + 3)

answer: c) x^3 + 3

What you are doing here is simply factoring out the GCF. In this example that factor would be x^5. Once that is complete the missing expression would be x^(3)+3. (also I like your profile picture)
