If it sells for $2.25, and you want to find 75%, then first you should divide 2.25 by 10. 2.25 divided by 10 is just scooting the numbers over to the right. So, it's 0.225. So first you would want to find the 70% of the problem, which is .225 times 7, since 70% equals 7/10. And 70% is 1.575. Then you would want to do 2.25 divided by 100, to find the remaining single digit number. Dividing by 100 is scooting the numbers to the right twice. Which is 0.0225. If you want to find the 5%, then you would do 0.0225 timesĀ 5. Which is 0.1125. If you add 1.575 to 0.1125, then you get 1.6875. Money always rounds, so you would get 1.69. Then, you would subtract 2.25 by 1.69. Which is 0.56. Therefore 75% of $2.25 is 0.56 cents

Answer:

Original price will be $9

Explanation:

We have given that There is discount of 75 %

After discount sale price is $2.25

Let the sale price be x

We have to find the original price

For finding original price we have to do

So x- ( 75 % of x ) = 2.25

x-0.75x=2.25

0.25x=2.25

x=$9

So the original price will be $9
