Step-by-step explanation: because 4 and 6 both have the variable X they are like terms and can be added to each other unlike 30 it doesn’t have a variable meaning 4x or 6x cannot combine with 30 because it doesn’t have the variable X. Moving on 4x+6x is 10x as you add the number but X stays the same and so 10x=30 so you divided both sides by 10 because inverse operations and you get x=3 then after you import that into the question 4(3)+6(3)=30 which is the same as 12+18=30 which is true 30=30
