The Bromine gains an electron to make it a bromide ion. The bromine is reduced because it is the oxidizer in this case while the sodium is oxidized because it the reducing agent.

Since Sodium has an extra electron that it wants to get rid off to become stable, and bromine needs one more to be full, NaBr will be formed, it is an ionic bond
Bromide is reduced, meaning it gained an electron
