Mrs. Escalante was riding a bicycle on a bike path. After riding 2/3 of a mile, she discovered that she still needed to travel 3/4 of a mile to reach the end of the bike path. How long is the bike path? Choose an operation to solve th problem and explain your reasoning. Then find the answer.

1/5/12 because,
3x4=12,4x2=8 witch would be 8/12 the 3x3=9+the 12=9/12. 9/12+8/12=1/5/12 so the path is 1/5/12.

Answer:

1(5)/(12) miles

Step-by-step explanation:

After riding 2/3 of a mile, she discovered that she still needed to travel 3/4 of a mile.

So, we will add both the distances to get the total path. (the covered distance plus the remaining distance.)

(2)/(3) +(3)/(4)

LCM of 3 and 4 (denominators) is 12

(8+9)/(12)

=
(17)/(12)

=
1(5)/(12) miles

The path is
1(5)/(12) miles long.
