6x + 7y = -4
6x + 4y = 8...multiply by -1
-------------
6x + 7y = -4
-6x - 4y = -8 (result of multiplying by -1)
-------------
3y = - 12
y = -12/3
y = -4

6x + 4y = 8
6x + 4(-4) = 8
6x - 16 = 8
6x = 8 + 16
6x = 24
x = 24/6
x = 4

solution is (4,-4)

6x + 7y = -4
6x + 4y = 8

Subtract 2nd from 1st equation:
3y = -12
y = -4

Substitute it in 2nd equation:
6x + 4(-4) = 8
6x - 16 = 8
6x = 24
x = 24/6
x = 4

In short, x = 4 & y = -4
