12^x = 22
x * log 12 = log 22
finsih that then you round it to the nearest thousandth
that's what i learnt.

Answer:

x = 1.2439

Explanation:

The equation given is:

12^(x) - 2 = 20

Simplifying this, we have:

12^x = 20 + 2\\\\\\12^x = 22

To solve this, we have to convert it from index form to logarithmic form:

log_(12)22 = x

Using one of the laws of logarithm, we have that:

(log_(10)22)/(log_(10)12) = x

This will give us:

(1.3424)/(1.0792) = x\\\\\\1.2439 = x

=> x = 1.2439
