The perimeter of a rectangular plot is 36m. The lenght is 6m more than the width. Find the width

L = w + 6
Perimeter = 2(L+w)
36 = 2(w+6+w)
36 = 2(2w+6)
36 = 4w+12
24 = 4w
w = 6

The width is 6 m.
