using a^2 + b^2 = c^2 it means that
42^2 + 56^2 = c^2
therefore c^2= 4900
so c=70mm

Answer:

70 mm

Explanation:

Using Pythagoras' identity in the right triangle.

The square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other 2 sides, that is

c² = 42² + 56² = 1764 + 3136 = 4900 ( take the square root of both sides )

c =
√(4900) = 70
