(x - 2)^(1/3) = 2

Raise both sides of the equation to power 3.

((x - 2)^(1/3))^3 = 2^3

(x - 2)^((1/3)*3) = 2*2*2 we multiply the powers (1/3) and 3.

(x - 2)^(1) = 8

(x - 2) = 8

x - 2 = 8

x = 8 + 2

x = 10

I hope this explains it.
