Katarina wrote the standard form of a linear equation as 4x – y = 8. Sofiya told her that the equation was not yet in standard form and gave her the right advice for how to fix it. What advice did Sofiya give to Katarina?

sofiya advice is to change the linear equation to y-intercept (y=mx+b) form so it will be y=4x-8

standard form (that I learned) is ax+by=c where a and b and c are integers and a is positive
4x-1y=8 is already in standard form

there is another 'standard form' in the form
ax+by+c=0
so then it would be
4x-1y-8=0
neither y=mx+b nor y-y1=m(x-x1) is standard form

the advice would be to either put a 1 in front of the y or to minus 8 from both sides, depends on what form you use
