Answer: D.) Built by Brunelleschi, it was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome.

Florence Cathedral was begun in 1296 and structurally completed by 1436. The iconic dome was designed by Filippo Brunelleschi inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. Until the development of new construction techniques in the modern era, the dome was the largest in the world. It still remains the largest brick dome ever built. The cathedral is one of the most visited attractions in Tuscany and one of the most well-known touristic sites in Italy.
