Here, Price of CD Player = $99
Tax = 5%
Tax amount = 99 × 0.05 = $4.95
Price after tax would be: = $99 + $4.95 = $103.95
So,
In short Tax amount = $4.95
Amount of CD Player after tax = $103.95

5% tax
tax = 5% of 99
= 0.05 * 99
tax = $4.95
Total = $99 + $4.95 = $103.95
$103.95 will be paid for it.
