g = girls. b=boys
100=g+b
g= 2b-5
we can plug this in to the first equation to find out the number of boys.
100= 2b-5+b
put your B's together
100= 3b-5
And solve it out.
100=3b-5
+5. +5
105 =3b
divide 105 by three
35=b
You now have how many boys are in the club. Plug this number in and solve for g
100=g+35
-35. -35
65=g
There are 65 girls and 35 boys

let the number of boys be x
according to question, the number of girls is (2x-5)
therefor,
x+(2x-5)=100
x+2x-5=100
3x=100+5
x=105/3
x=35
hence the number of boys is x =35
and the number of girls is 2x-5=2*35-5
=70-5
=65.
