(b^2)/(49)

In a general way we can always distribute exponents over multiplication or division.

Simplifying using exponent distribution property.

Applying the property to the exercise give us


\left(\cfrac{b}{7}\right)^2 =\cfrac{b^2}{7^2}

Lastly we know that
7^2 =49 so we get


\left(\cfrac{b}{7}\right)^2 =\cfrac{b^2}{49}

And that is the simplified form of the given expression.
